Dudley has developed a slimey milky looking gunk that hangs off his neck and legs. I've tried gently brushing the stuff off and dabbing a little iodine on the area with a Q tip. I've added a larger filter and cleaned and treated the tank with "Turtle Clean" as well as a fungicide for fish. Nothing has helped and his appetite is gone. He doesn't appear sick and acts normal otherwise, but's going to start deteriorating quick if he doesn't start eating. This stuff leaves a mess in the water and even clogs the filter tube. A local reptiile shop thought it might be a bacterial infection but offered no remedy. I also can't find a vet in my area that knows anything about reptiles, turtles in particular. Any help anybody can offer with be appreciated.

How did you make out? There are fungus dips can you buy called Sulfa-Dip in the turtle section of the pet store. It helps with pretty much any general skin abnormality as it kills the bacteria/fungus and keep the skin clean.

Normal shedding is usually not enough to clog a filter, so you probably have some sort of fungus. Also, normal shedding is more like fine tissue paper, not slimy white goo.

I hope everything worked out!
