I know you can get brine shrimp and so forth, but can you put small live shrimp in your aquarium with a grown turtle to eat? I know you can put crayfish, but i feel shrimp can be eaten and help clean Smile just wondering if they'll eat then, and if they'd be beneficial

I have little Ghost Shrimp and they are not even 2 inches long, Tiny and Tim just ignore them! Thay clean the tank fairly well, but you have to get a lot of them, because if my turtles get sight of them when i don't feed them, well let's just say things get a little messy Wink LOL!

I bought small shrimp. They were eaten within a matter of minutes Smile

As for tank cleaning, when I has a smaller tank, I purchased a few apple snails to help keep thinks clean. They worked for a few weeks until the turtles figured out how to eat them.

I've also heard that trapdoor snails are good because they give live birth and the turtles like to munch on the babies!

I hope this helped!

My Tucker does the same thing. He has three fish that have been in the tank for almost a year here. I dump in new fish, he goes on a rampage, but ignores the old guys. They're bigger obviously but even when they weren't. I wonder why this is.

My one friend had a similar thing happen. Until one day when his turtle killed every living thing in the tank, even after having fish friends for a year or more. =)

If it's in the tank and alive, it's potential feud! Whooo!
