They think that if you buy a RES your going to get bored later and let it go an because some idiots did that they think the yellow bellys are going to get inbred until none are left pur im going to have poeple sign a petition -.- dont mess w/the turtles if you dont know how to solve the inbreeding probs ask an expert jeez any suggestions on wat to put in my petition? and im writing a letter to the Florida Game and fresh water commisions office -_-

I'm sorry, but I would suggest that the majority of sliders sold in pet stores as pets are not given proper quality of life in pet stores or afterwards. Do some research on how they breed the millions of hatchling sliders every year in appalling conditions. Add into that the lack of knowledge pet stores seem to have on turtles AND how poorly instructed new handlers are...

Turtles are exotic pets with specific needs. Every day this forum gets at least one post from a new turtle owner with no idea how to care for their baby or babies. Let's make turtles difficult to purchase. It will help ensure that only serious turtle keepers keep them as pets!

I agree it should be harder to purchase the turtles but you shouldnt stop the sale of them entirely you should have people qualify for a license to own a turtle or something like it.

if you should have to qualify to by a turtle then how come you dont have to for a puppy thier a million times harder to care for Exclamation

i think it a good law.personally i dont like expensive prices.this is why we have turtle fourms to educate them about their turtles they have
