help what do i do!!!!i woke up this morning and my biggest turtle was traped under a cave rock that he uses to climb up on to dry out his shell. his head was bobing around and he looked like he needed air. i got him out and he just floated to the top. he looked like he was unconciouse. then he just flipped to his back. he looked died we got him out and put him in a shoe box because we thought he ws dead. i left him out side in the shoe box to bury him when my son got out of school this was in the afternoon. when we went to bury him his head went back into his shell. HE WAS ALIVE.!!!!!!!then we put him back into his turtle tank . he lost his color he is not ggreen looks a little gray, and the redslider mark on the side of his ear is gone jsut a little pink. is he sick? what should I do.!!!

If he is still alive, then the best thing to do right now would be to take extra good care of it. The losing color in its body could just indicate stress and bad health at the moment. If you were drowning and you were rescued you wouldn't look too good yourself!!! I think its best to get rid of the problematic cave rock, lower the level of the water while keeping it a warm 79 degree F. That would get some blood flow going to get some color back in its skin.

How is your turtle doing today? I was thinking about him! I have some small rocks to keep my filter in place, but I notice my guys are always knocking them around and I also was worried one of them would get caught and not be able to get out.

Migh try a higher temp like 80-82 degrees. 79 sounds a little chilly for someone (or thing) recovering from such a stressful ordeal.
