well me and a friend caught a turtle where assuming its a red ear slider and we put it in our pond in back yard which isn't very big like 4ft x 2-3ft. and its about 2 ft deep its mostly rocks we've got some fish and plants and we left it in there for a few hours and now we can't seem to find it. Is it possible it climbed out and walked away or maybe it climbed out and hide? or maybe its still in the pond... Well anyways could it possibly come up to bask and get food, breath?

If someone could answer or try to make a clear understanding of this it would be great!

it probably got out and left trying to find his or her old home, it is very bad to take a wild turtle out of its habitat

How's that bad? I mean the pond is almost the same thing, and also it might take a while to get home its pretty far away.

its really bad, the turtles arent used to the new place, think about it.......... the turle could be very old, like.... 20 or 40 years old and you just take it out of its natural habitat, used to hunting food, not knowing what pellets are or not used to food just sitting out in the open, and if you dont give it all of the stuff it needs, it would die, if you take it out of its home, you might as well kill it....... if you truly love turtles and wildlife, you'd know that putting it back is the best thing for it..................
