My name is Jamie, i'm 16 will be 17 in a month, my turtles name is Yurtle. Like the Dr.Suess book.
that's me, begining of 07
I live in Minnesota. I'm a junior this year. Yurtle has an indoor tank, which i would like some suggestions with in the future... will post it somewhre more apropriate.
here's a recent picture.
The story of my Turtle: Easter 2006, At my grandparents house we had an outdoor easter egg (fake eggs with candy in them) hunt. Well, they have a stream in their property which connects to a large swampish area.
So i was looking near the rocks next to the stream because they always are hidden there. and i found a turtle! when i found it i thought it was dead, so i left it alone. later on i was in the kitchen and my little cousin comes in walking around with a little container, soon i found out she took that turtle and it was living.
I stole the turtle back and told her i let it go cause it was sick so it had to be outside. I had ben wanting a turtle/lizard then, and the stores only sell the bigger ones. Well anyways, it was pretty much a baby, very small.
And Yurtle has ben with me ever since. I like shopping at Twin Cities Reptile, if you live in the area you should check it out, they have a room just for the big land turtles that live with some type of lizard... its really cool.
Here are some pictures, I got my digital camera for x-mas 06, so all the pictures are within the last year.
Yurtle eating some meat. He's grown bigger since then
That's the current set-up, i got that peice of driftwood in Ohio at a beach it's a really good item for my tank
another lay-out picture
Trying to figure out what is going on
Checking things out
i like photography, this is one i took at the end of my school year.
I'm not sure if it is a girl or a boy, i'll probly have to figure that out
