[size=18]I currently have 5 water turtles, 3 I have had for 4 years and 2 for under a year. My turtles are 1 yellow bellied slider, 1 red bellied cooter, 1 cumberland slider, and 2 african side necks. How can I tell which ones are girls or boys? I would appreciate any help with this. 1 wht do you have them in try to put up a pic uf your setup 2 females tails are shorter fatter males loger skinnier i forgot wht the bottom of the shell is called but females r flat (for more storage for eggs) males arent better for mating lastly the males claws are long

males havee longer tails and claws than a female.

Thanks, everyone for your answers. I am sitting here in my classroom and I have 2 of my turtles beside me-as I was watching them the 1` turtle that I thought was a girl-has turned out to NOT be a girl, he just tried to mate with the smaller turtle. Both of them are African side neck turtles-so I guess that I can say that I have a boy and girl. Now I just need to figure out what my other 3 are. Well I just looked at the other three-guess what, one of them is trying to mate with the other. Is it mating season? I am not ready to have babies-LOL. Rolling Eyes
