Hi all. I'm feeding my RES Reptomin sticks... about 10-12 each feeding (2x a day... he's about 5 inches long) I tried feeding him greens, but he doesn't like them much (dandelion and kale), and a little fruit (he loves strawberries and blueberries)

I want to make sure I'm giving him what he needs.. He's constantly searching in the rocks and turning them over for food, and begs when ever I come close!

Any suggestions?

I am also clueless as to whether i am feeding them enough or not enough so i would like to know as well.

I know that you must feed them a variety of foods rather than just feeding them pellets. when i first got my 2 RES they wouldnt eat any greens but you should still put it out there for them and eventually they will. I purchased algae plants and they loved those, i had three of them because i was going on a trip for the weekend and had no way to feed them so it was told to me that i could get plants for them to eat but they scarfed down those plants in one day lol...

thanks. I'll have to go check out the algae plants. Would probably be really good for the water, too. I'm wat too stressed out about the amount of sticks to give and how often. He's only about 4 1/4 inches long (shell only).

mine are about the same size. they always say to feed as much as the size of their neck but i am not too sure how much that means exactly and also not sure if that applies to the turtle bites.

first of all turtles look hungry all the time they beg every time they c u. u should try to get cuttle bone break it in half and in half again and throw it in let your turtle pick at it for a good half an hour and then take it out for anouther day if there is any left Laughing . KrisDog your feeding your turtle just the right amount. for treats once in a while get some feeder fish for em and let them be your turtles food for the day dont let your turtle beg u for more food that should stastian your turtle for the day.

thanks... He's shedding an awful lot, and I heard that can be a result of over feeding... that's why I'm worried about it...
