i hve this.....8 feet by 6 feet "cage" out side with about 2feet high fence.... and its a graet turtle "habitat" i had a mud turtle.... and somehow she kept getting out... but id find her... we think she climbed the fence.....somehow........but..... now we cant find her......i just recently stopped looking for her because i thought...... she better off out in the wild..... it is a good habitat back there in the woods.... where she most likely went because thats where we found her all the other times.... it has a creek and it a big place.... perfect for turtles......but today.... my brother was mowing the lawn and almost hit a turtle but he stopped... at first he thought it was her... but it wasnt... it was a gorgeous ... BIG eyed box turtle.... so we put it in the pen and we are seeing if it gets out and see how it doesif it does so we can repair it.....so.... i am finally happy...i cant wait to see how it turns out.. Very Happy

I was wondering how much box turtles usually cost... because i think they would be much easier to take care of because they live around me anyways... what is cool though is i know most of then live real long.. because about 7 years ago my dad ran over a box turle with the lawn mower by accident.... all it did was take a little chunk out of its shell... we made shure it was okay before we let is go a couple of days later... and we still see it around alot and you cna tell its the same one because of the mark we have pictures of then and now but its too difficult to load them on here..... well anyways..... would it be better just to keep the one i have because it looks like it was run over or something... or should i let it go and buy one.... i was ripped off last time and a local pet store.... they charged me $57 and i thought... ooh that must be how much they usually cost because nowhere in the local tristate had mud turtles at that time... so i bought it.... 2 weeks later they get mud turtles at a different store.. i think it was petsmart for like $20or $30 bucks it made me mad.... then it got out a couple of days later.. so i was sad not mad because in that 2 weeks of time i grew attached to that stubborn turtle named Naiia... i miss her so much... but i hope she is having the time of her life out there.... and maybe one day i'll come across her......so.......please reply if you know.... thank you so much (o' 'o) /\/\/\/\/\/\/\ < turtle looking through
