Herlp My daughter's red eared slider which she's had for several years has swollen eyes, she has a beautiful 40 gallon breeder tank set up. He's never had any health issues, she has tried eye drps that she purchased at the pet store. Any suggestions?

Swollen eyes are often a sign of Vit A deficency. What is the turtles diet? He should be eating lots of foods rich in natural Vit a like carrot shreads. He may need a vit shot from th evet since he is in bad shape as this can lead to a lower immune system and then the turtles can get respitory infections.

I'll tell her. She has a uv bulb plus a heat bulb. He's been doing great. Like I said she's had him several years then this popped up. Thank you.
