Hi. I Have seen some pictures of ''spot lamps'' on here for Turtles to sunbathe, Is it inportant to get one for my 2 baby RES or is it a thing to worry about when there adults?

The setup i have is:

*Heater

You need to have BOTH UVB and UVA rays on your turtle... this is very important for proper growth and development as well as digestation, and nutrients. Make sure you get a UVA and not just a UVB. Tank looks good!

As the tank i have is only tempary, im going to get a bigger one in about 8months once they have grown bigger.

I went out and bought a:...

*Spotlamp Bulb Holder
*40watt Classic Bulb

Iv noticed since iv put it in, water temp has gone up (obvious reasons) and the Turtles have noticed the Bulb has been installed. They keep popping their heads up every now and then more that usuall now to get abit of heat.

Iv attached some pictures to show what i have done. I Just hope it will be ok.

All the time, hahaha. It's pretty common to come in the apartment door and hear "skitterskitterSPLOOSH." Flee instinct you know? No real big deal. You're a big moving thing while they're vulnerable out of the water. Tucker now has gotten brave enough he will stay basking sometimes when we walk in. We'll have a staring contest and THEN he'll jump in the water. Heh.

I leave the main uv light on for about 12 hours and the basking for 11. Could probably do the basking for less... it's not like Tucker goes to sleep until all the lights in the house are out anyways.
