Hi My daughter turning 7 wants a turtle for a pet because she is allergic to EVERYTHING ELSE. And I have no idea what kind of turtle to look for what I need to but in set up preparation what they eat or how much is invovled in the care of a turtle. I have owned an Iguana previously but figure this is very different. I would like to do it right. Any advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

A turtle's a pretty sweet pet, but it is more for looking than touching. And you'll be investing a fair amount of time and money to give it proper care. =)

I'm a new Turtle owner aswel, Iv bought 2 Female Red Eared Sliders. They are a year old and ther about an inch and half long.

The care sheet on this website is very helpful aswel, i have found it very usefull. Since iv bought the Turtles iv been obsessed with them i just wanna keep buying new things for the tank.
