Are my turtles crazy??? They will bang agenced the glass he looks like he is drowning but after this little fiasco he just swims on to find another place to eat and swim. What do i do??? Oh and the big on (Tiny) mostly does it. Like he wants to get out.

I'll see if i can take a pic of him doing it. Its funny but it worries me.

turtles dont realize that its glass.. if they can see through it they can't rationalize that they can't also go through it. its normal.

OK Thanks! They are just so weird!!! We took them outside and they ran around like a madman!!!!

my turtles do that too. whenever i put my finger near the glass they go crazy trying to catch it but now they don't do it no more. my turtle is really smart it smells before it eats. if i put my finger in the water it would go up to it smell it no scent and it continues minding it business. but ill try getting the scent of the pellets it eats. and if it bites me................................. (i wouldn't mind because it hurts worse when it bites you on the nose trust me i still have the scar there......) dont ask how it got there lol lol Laughing

I never really thought about how if they could see through it then they don't realize it's a wall. I thought my turtle had some confinement issues or something because he does the same thing you described! I got him a big aquarium & everything b/c I thought he was uncomfortable in the little cage or whatever I bought from the store, and he still heads to the wall trying to get out. I wonder if he sees his reflection and thinks there's another turtle there that he's running into!!

it sounds like they are beging... my turtles do that when they know its feeding time... im pritty sure the turtles can see out of the tank and cant see a reflection of them selves...but maybe im wrong Surprised
