It takes them a week or two to get used to their surroundings. Keep offering her food. Try tuna, it may help.

Try dipping her pellets into tuna water... tuna has a very pungent smell and will help intise the turtle to eat. However its not unusuall for them to not eat for a week or two after being moved to a new environment.

If she isnt eating and she tried to bite you.. SHES SCARED! Leave her a lone for a while and let her get used to her new surroundings. Babies don't like to be handeled much at all so there is no reason you should be picking her up.

no no no no.... im not "handling" well i am but not in the way you are thinking... the only time i actually pick her up is when i transfer her from her outside "habitat" to her inside one. the reason why i don't a lways keep her out there is because there are many wild animals around here.. like Coyotes, stray dogs, my neigbors dogs, Racoons, Opossums, Cats, and there has been spotted a few bob cats around here.. the reason why im so worried is two of my dogs, and a cat of mine has been killed around here if they are not inside or in their Kennels overnight..i only bring her in over night, as i do with all my pets.....at the time i was bringing her in.. an she just started snapping, she has never done this before, she is starting to act very strange too, im thinking she might be sick or something...... should i take her to the vet?

Aquatic turtles need water to eat and swallow their food. Is he/she in the water when you offer the food? _________________ I brake for turtles! |
