Here are pics of my turtles that all live happily together in a 90 gallon pond on my screened in porch. The also have 3 snails, 2 goldfish and several minnows as roommates. Even though Crush is bigger he has never shown any aggression to the babies and they are not at all afraid of him. Hope you enjoy the pics. Smile

Ok, so you may not be concerned with Crush finding Squirt and Squiggle as the lunch menu, but are you confident the snail won't?!?!?

Nice pics....

Do they live full-time in that huge pond? Do you filter the water, or just routinely change it out? Do you leave the fountain running 24/7 or only during the day?

You called it a 'screened in porch', but is there screen on the white lattice, or is there the opprotunity for nifty meals (insects) to find their way into the water?

Thanks for the compliment.
The snails have not bothered the turtles or vice versa. I had placed Squiggle on the plant shelf for the pic. Could a snail eat a turtle?
They live fulltime in the pond during the summer and last winter I brought them in. I have future pond upgrade plans which includes a heater so hopefully after that it will be their year round home.
The fountain runs 24/7 as it is hooked up to my filtration system. The babies like to sit in the middle of it. Yes the porch is entirely screened including the bottom where the lattice is but insects do occasionally sneak in if my cats don't get them first.

Your turts will think of snails as food.

Tucker loves eatin' snails. They're fun and easy and tasty. He shakes 'em like he's a snake or something tearin' them outta their shells, chomp chomp. Mmm.

oh yea I knew that turtles will eat snails, I don't really care about that. I did get big snails so they will last for a while though. Crush is kinda weird he has had minnow and snail roomates several different times and never eaten any of them, they're like his buddies or something. He swims with the minnows like he's part of the school.....and as of yet (2nd day) he hasn't messed with the goldfish either. We will see how that goes though.
