| I have an idea for m little turtle, for when it is at least 4". We are out side alot, and I want to get a setup out side. mabey a pond, with plants and stuff. Put flexie glass (plastic stuff) or some other stuff around it and of course with some land. What do you think? |

| I think this is a good idea, but it has to be quite big. and there has to be a wire or mesh screan over it to keep birds and other animals |

Now that the weather is getting warmer, I have an outdoor little habitat close to our patio for Muckey that i keep him in when he can be supervised. Once we go inside to bed or go to work, we bring him into his regular tank. He loves it out there!
It's one of those small pond kits you can get at home depot with a large rock for basking and some plants. It's not filled up enough for him to climb out.
I'd love to have a bigger koi pond for the summer time to let him loose in, but I can only imagine how much work that would be. Hard enough keeping one tank clean and my cat out of his tank...let alone raccoons and birds. _________________ I brake for turtles! |

I think that is the route we will go (a set from home depot) and we won't leave him/her out ther unatended. only when we are out grilling or something like that. |

That's what I do. I have a small sandbox from ToysRUs
here
with a basking spot, some plants... the turts get to go out during the nice days, and are back inside during the evening..
They seem to deal with it ok.. getting a few hours of direct real sunlight is probably worth the elevated stress the move causes. _________________ 1.0.0 Trachemys scripta scripta----1.0.1 Chrysemys picta picta
