I have 2 western painted turtles - I've had them for 5 years and now I am moving and can't take them with me. I think that one is male (about 3 3/4"), the other female (about 5"); both are healthy and great swimmers. I really don't want to take them to a shelter - would prefer to give them to someone who likes and already has turtles. I would also give away my whole setup for free to whoever takes them (it's about $400-worth of equipment) - a great Eheim filter (along with some replacement media, 25-gallon tank, turtle dock, lights (heat lamp and UVB), and heater. I live in Washington DC - I'll deliver if you are in the viscinity or we can discuss shipping options.
