I have a 55 gal tank.. and all i got in there is 6 big square blocks and gravel behind it and a flotting island that i had to use the rocks to hold my 3 year old female turtle up with cause she is heavy lol.. was wondering would plaster of paris be harmful to her if i make like molds to form rocks.. and caves like the aquariums have? it would be cool to make them like that.. but i don't know if thats what they use to make them...I would post a pic of my tank but i don't know how lol...

Plaster of paris is not harmful... but wouldn't it melt in the water?
I would suggest adding more water to the tank and getting some plants. |

| Be careful those blocks dont fall over and pin your little guy down. And also those little gravel pieces are a bad idea as your turtle could eat them and have digestive problems. |

well the blocks are just temp and there heavy enough that she can't move them and there set good enough that they cant fall and the little ones that have the little rocks they don't seem to bother the rocks thats what they pet store had them in but when they get biger i will be putting something different.... thatnks for the consern though |

that looks so awesome. GREAT JOB.
I had to put bricks under my basking platform as well. I've had those bricks underwater for 3 months and they havent dissolve in water.
I love your tank setup, wish I could of thought of that. |

| BTW. I am talking from experience, but I use to have gravel for my baby turtles but I took them all out. They started smelling and it was very hard to clean them. |
