As she is alone and too young right now, ive placed her in a big spherical glass bowl.
Planning to shift her to a tank and get a companion of the same type! |

| If you keep him/her in small container she/he will have shell problems. They need to be in big enviroment, in order to be healthy. Females should be in 150 gal tank while males can be in 75 gal tanks by themselves. |

| I don't really proclaim to be an expert or anything, but I'm pretty positive that is a map turtle. it's definately not a slider. |

I'm not exactly sure what species it is, but map turtles are the only turtles I can think of that have that arched, pointy spine like that. I did a quick google image search on map turtles and this is one of the first pics
http://www.southeasternoutdoors.com/wildlife/reptiles/images/barbours-map-turtle.jpg
Care wise, you can treat them just like a slider. Most of the species I've seen only get about 4 inches (about half the size of your average slider). They aren't quite as graceful as a slider in the water either. I think they're cute though (they look suprised all the time).
If I'm wrong someone please feel free to correct me.
Even if I am wrong, I guarentee you that isn't a slider. It's also not pyramidding. Pyramidding affects all the scutes equally. They'll all raise up not just certain ones. |

You have a map turtle.
He is not pyramiding.
I really hope you have him out of that bowl.
I'm going to give you a more in-depth reply in your most recent post... |
