I'm typing without my glasses, so if this is poorly spelled that's why.
My wife and I are buying Tucker a 90 gallon tank with our tax return. The two main options for filters at that level are undergravel and cannister filters. We use river rock so an undergravel seems not to be the best idea. Anyways here are some questions:
1) With a 90 gallon tank about 60 gallons full, I know I need at least 120 gallon power filter or above. Are there any options at that scale besides Cannister and undergravel?
2) What brands of cannister filter are recommended?
3) Any particular maintenance details for cannister filters that might not be stated in the instructions?
4) any other tips on care for the bigger level of tanks?
The 90 gallon should be good for years from now, but Tucker has quickly outgrown his 20 gallon tank. He's now over three inches just before his six month period (not sure when he was hatched but he was a bit bigger than a newborn hatchling when we got him(. Now he will have a veritable ocean to swim in... I'm excited to be decorating his new home soon. It'll be rad. |
