| my two baby turtles's have a shell of about 2 and half inches. They are very active all day and sometimes at night. They are finally shedding! which is good I guess. The thing is that lately they became beggers. As soon as I get close to the tank they start begging. I feed them every morning. I feed them with the HBH turtles bites new formula (small pellet) I put about 8 pellets daily for the two of them. I got them today Reptotreat shrimp and they loved it. Also, I sometimes give them snacks from HBH Turtle treats that have Anchovy and Shrimp. I try not to give them too much snacks (only like twice a week) but they seem to be looking for food all day. I see them in the botton of the tank looking for food and sometimes end up eating their own poop. I feel bad. I do not want to over feed them, but I don't want them to starve! Please help |

I would suggest starting them on greens...like romaine, collard, red leaf, green leaf. That will fill them up a little and give them extra vitamins. Turtle's always beg...mine will splash water begging. Don't over feed the pellets as it can cause pyramiding...just put some greens for them to munch.
Watch out for the spinach it binds to the calcium and won't let them absorb it and turt's need alot of calcium. A tiny bit a month is fine. And also watch Iceberg lettuce...they LOVE it but it is mostly water and has n nutritional value...I avoid it. |

jsut keep offering it too them, babies tend to like meat more than veggies when they are this age, so just keep offering it to them, eventually they will start to pay more attention to it. _________________ I love my turtles! |

| Yep in the begining I had a hard time getting mine to eat the green stuff, but I put it in the tank in the morning and removed it at night and now they all eat it even the baby 1 inch res I have. I also only give the baby 1 inch res 2 mazuri balls a day, so they get the protien they need but also are hungary enough to eat other things. |
