need help identifying what i have so i know what i need to do. thanks also the pic of the tank is what i have but would like to know what size of filter and names of good filters for it. and maybe ideas on how to set it up or a site to show pics of ways to set it up it is a 50 gallon tank and he/she is the only one in it

| Welcome to life with a Florida Cooter! They get big too.....around 16 inches once an adult! Congrats! They are great turtle's and mine is very friendly! Yours also looks like a male....those nails and in the top pic I can see that tail! They can have a setup like a red ear slider....deep water, keep it kinda warm about 76 and a nice basking area, these guys LOVE to bask. Feed alot of greens and water plants like anachris or duckweed. But mine will take pellets and fish fine also. Depends on the individual...most cooters like plants though. |
