|
|
| Hello - I'm new to this board and am seeking some help and/or opinions... My red-eared slider seems to be having some kind spasms. It just started last night and as far as I've seen is only when he is basking. His head and his front and back legs jerk every few seconds. Other than that, he is fine - he's very active, is eating normally and plays with my other slider. Has anyone else seen this, and if so, what was the outcome? Is it something serious, or could it be something as simple as he's shedding and trying to get rid of excess skin? Thank you for any advice you can give! |

| How old is your turtle? I mean how long have you had it? Whats its size? It may be mating thing. |

| I've had him for about a year and a half, and he was probably already at least 2 years old by the time I got him. I have seen him do the "mating dance" but never this kind of jerking before. His shell is about 7" long. |

| My turtle will sometimes do the same too. Like yours, its only when she is basking, but I only see her do it every now and then. Still though, I have no idea why she is doing it. Maybe it is similar to how we twitch when our muscles relax while falling asleep. |

oh I just noticed something. Are u sure it's a he? I mean 7" at about 3.5 yrs old could be a bit big for a male hmmm _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

It could be constipation or maybe wanting to lay eggs. Hard time pooping
