My daughter found a very small, brown turtle. He has three yellow spots along the center of his shell, which is mostly brown. There are also yellow spots around the perimeter of the shell. Dark brown in the center of his tummy with yellow around the edges. He is TINY, but from what we can see, there is no webbing on the feet, only claws. His head has tiny orange spots. We don\'t know how to properly care for the turtle and are desperate to learn what he needs! Any help would be appreciated!

I looked at the Turtle Species chart and it looks like it \"COULD\" be a spotted turtle. Were do you live? It will eat worms and melon. It prefers mrshy surroundings. To make sure of it check out the green thing above, \"Turle Species\" and see if it looks like any of those turles. Hope this helps!!!

I think it\'s a box turtle. Where did you find it? Near water, in the water or on land?
I think it would be bet to let is go again. Box turtles are proctected in certain states and the wild population deminishing due to habitat loss and removal from he wild.
Enjoy the turtle and return him where you found him. It\'s not the good for people taking wild animals into their homes. If you want a turtle for a pet, it would be better for our environment if you adopted or bought a CB (captive bread) turtle. Leave the wild ones alone.
Anyway, try looking up Eastern Box Turtle on the web for pictures and care info. That\'s what I suspect it to be. But can\'t tell unless I see it.
Cheers,

I agree that it sounds like a box turtle hatchling. The spots on its shell and the lack of webbing suggest it to be a box turtle of some type. I also agree this turtle should be returned to where he was found unless he is injured or sick. _________________ Adopt a turtle - Save a life !!
