I just recently started feeding my 2 turts lettuce. I know your not supposed to feed them iceburg. So i bought romaine. I just wanted to double check that this kind is ok...?? Right now their diet consists of floating pellets and lettuce. Should i be adding anything else to their diet? _________________ "I'm as self-contained as a turtle. As a general rule lunchmeat and all the perservatives that are in it is not good for them.
I use a big mix of greens- red leaf, green leaf, romaine, escarole, mustard, collard, baby greens, feild greens, the salad bags for humans.
Meats I feed once a week...always cooked without spices chicken,beef,seafood....whatever I cook for dinners I set some aside before spices are added and bake or boil it. Mix it all together.
Once a week I give veggies- carrots, green beans, corn, peas. And once a week they get fruits- banana, berries, melon, apple.
Everything in small amounts and a variety. I do the meat, veggies, and fruit on days they don't get pellets. My water turtle's,wood and boxies are all very healthy and never have an issue. The tort's get the same except no meat. Monday is fruit, wednesday is veggie and Friday is meat....that way it's mixed up. On Sunday no one gets fed. _________________ 3 sulcata,11 red ears,1 yellow belly,1 melanistic slider,1 map,1 western painted,2 3 toe boxies,1 striped mud,2 japanese pond,2 common musk,1 russian,1 ornate wood,1 FL Cooter,7 annam pond,2 back wood,1 Malayan box,1 Red belly |
