can anyone tell me what kind of turtles these are?
this was probably a bad idea, but i bought them in china town in LA...and i thought they were red-eared sliders but they dont have red ears really...maybe painted turtles? i cant tell, im new....
right now i have them in a small tank half rocks, and half water....idk if thats right, but they dig in the rocks, and sleep in the water. im feeding them the little food pellet things the guy i bought them from gave to me, but i dont think they are eating it....i dont know what to do!!! please help!!
i'll take all the info i can get on what kind they are and how to care for them properly....
thanks in advance![/img] _________________ lacey |

my baby redear sliders looked like that too. the red will get darker as they get bigger, though some of mine did stay rather light, almost like a yellowish orange. the digging is annoying at night huh? i didnt know they did that and thought all my turtles dissappeared cause they were 100% burried in the tiny gravel i had
they'll eat sooner or later, u might wanna try live worms though, mine really loved that till i switched them to pellets |

yup defently a RES.i had two res ig ott hem from china town from LA to.i though their was gonna die sicn ehtey where in horribel condition like the way they where kept in.a tiny critter keeper with very small gravel then i put them in a10 gall tank with big rocks and everything they need.as they grew i ahd no problem with them(unlike the one i got from the internet)now their two inches now and they live in a 50 or 55 gallon tank now.and i got a western painted turtle his/she is name mystery for now.mystery love eating food(but i only give him 1 or two pellets a day and hhe love to bite my figers which it tickles) _________________ [IMG]http://i9.tinypic.com/2rdhmq.jpg[IMG] |

I would so be in the market for turtles that are genetically engineered to stay tiny. Kind of like those minature dogs or pigs..I know I'm just crazy. _________________ Where Ever You Go There You Are.
