| okay whenever its on the dock basking it will stretch its neck out and open its mouth and sometimes make a sound then fter its done that a couple of times itll lay its head down andgo to sleep. now i thought it was just hungry but it isn't eating as i can see. i may put some lettuce in there and see if it'll nibble on that though. |

Gasping can be a sign of respitory infection, or he could just be yawning. I would check your water and basking temps. How is his appetite? _________________

are there any other symtoms? such as basking more than normal, floating swimming? like deesygirl said, it CAN be RI (respritory infection) like pnemonia or cold if that is the case, you should take him/her to a vet, or, if that is not possible, just try to do your best by keeping his basking temps up to boost his immune system and stuff. i dunno, it is possible that he was just yawning, so post back if he has other symtoms and im sure you will get more advice on what to do _________________ I love my turtles! |

sks more than she does swim but she will still get in the water, and yes she does just kinda float more than go under to the bottom and walk around. and uhm there isnt any vets that can look at turtles around here because i have already checked. but i hate to see her suffere if shes in pain. but she does have energy because i went up to the tank not to long ago and she went off her doke and swam right to me to say hello. and i took her out to have some time with her and rubbed her neck and bottom of her shell. also i noticed the bottom part of her shell has red on it like its inside of there! please help support and pray for my pore shelly. she is only 1 year old and still kinda small. at least she still cuddles with her friend shelly though! |
