yeah be careful about that. pets shouldn't be sold online maybe unless u go and pick them up by urself which then would be the same as buying them from a local store. even if they were good breeders, shipping methods could not be appropriate and u might get a delivery of a smashed turtle. never heard of any good experience.
sorry if this is disappointing.. _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

I purchased 13 RES hatchlings and 2 Miss Map hatchlings from turtlesale in April. 1 arrived dead, 2 more died the next day. I followed instructions to send them back. I have been e-mailing them, calling them, begging them to credit my account, but they have not responded. Within a week,
all but 3 turtles had died. They came soft-shelled, lethargic, sores on their necks and legs. I don't want them to replace the hatchlings. I am not even asking them to refund my money for the 9 turtles that died after their "2 day warranty. I want my money back for the 3 dead turtles I sent them back within their time limit. They are totally ignoring me. I will never do business with them again. |

Another turtlesale.com VICTIM here.
Bought quite a few a few months back. Opened the package in front of the UPS guy and my colleague (a veterinarian) to several DEAD babies.
Follow the instructions and mail them back, with delivery confirmation. Also send an email as required.
Phone the shop and talked to Charlie one time and always a different guy on subsequent calls.
After a month get an email response that they'll take care of the order after they receive the babies back. They already have, USPS confirms.
Email correspondence just goes in circles. It would seem that their goal is to frustrate you into submission.
I have reported them to the FDA for selling baby turtles. Sorry but if you can't run a business correctly and honor your guarantee then you don't deserve to be in business.
Of the dozen I bought, all were dead inside of about 10 days. All except one and I'm still not holding my breath on his survival.
DO NOT BUY FROM TURTLESALE.com unless you like to waste your money and suffer heartache. |

| It is illegal to buy turtles in my state, so I'm forced to buy from online. I bought mine from reptilecity.com and my turtle was really healthy doing fine for a month and a half. Last week he started acting weird and he died yesterday. He was double his size when I first got him though. Even a month and a half later, he is honoring to send a replacement ASAP. Hopefully, this is true, of course I was attached already to my poor little guy. I will update if he sends me a replacement. I didn't trust even the website of turtlesale.com I believe it is unethical to even try to cash in on BLIND TURTLES!!!! OR TURTLES WITH DEFORMITIES LIKE TWO HEADED TURTLES FOR $1200!!!!!!! THAT IS DISGUISTING!! and they should be ashamed of themselves. SORRY BUT IT MAKES ME SOO MAD, I don't mind breeders, but for christsake be responsible! |

| Thank you guys your stories realy helped. I hope some day that those sites will all be shut down. This probaly will never happen but if someone could form a group and shut down all of these websites that be great. But in cases when it's illegal to buy a turtle in whatever state your in you could go to the next state over and buy one. When I get a turtle i'm going to do that. |

I ordered two hatchlings (a RES and an YBS) from turtlesale in March of last year. Both arrived alive and well. One had crusty eyes a little, but i put some drops on him and he was good to go. They're both still alive and kicking... or swimming, I guess... today - almost two years! When the YBS' eyes were crusty, I called the store and they gave me advice on what to do. And their warranty was 60 days back then.
I'm not sure if they've changed since, but I thought it was only fair to stick up for them because they did a very good job with my order. |

Any tme you get a baby turtle shipped to you you run the risk of that baby not being alive when you get it. Whether it's from turtle sale or not. Yes I am on their message board but that does NOT mean I agree with what they sell and why they do so. I personally would NEVER buy a turtle from on line...I need to see the exact one I am getting and know what might be wrong with it for one thing and for another there are WAY WAY to many people that have found they no longer can care for the one they have for whatever reason and are looking for a good home for it. The only way to stop the selling of turtle's on-line is for noone to buy them....but the that's another whole story....I personally don't mean to offend anyone but I feel noone should be able to sell turtle's or any other animal....there are too many unknowing people that get animals and have no clue what they need to survive and be healthy. _________________ 3 sulcata,11 red ears,1 yellow belly,1 melanistic slider,1 map,1 western painted,2 3 toe boxies,1 striped mud,2 japanese pond,2 common musk,1 russian,1 ornate wood,1 FL Cooter,7 annam pond,2 back wood,1 Malayan box,1 Red belly |

I can't believe that these businesses can sell animals over the internet. This makes me sick! Animals are living things too! I'm going to stop myself now before I get into a tizzy. But I had never heard of turtlesale.com until reading this forum and decided to check it out. "Every turtle that we adopt out,
comes with his or her very own adoption certifacat, " <----How are you able to take a business serious when they cannot even spell. I'm frustrated with the thought they do this to animals! They should be stopped, stuck in a box and shipped themselves!! GRRR!!!! _________________ "I'm as self-contained as a turtle. When I put my key in the ignition, I have my home right behind me.”
