i have 2 res i've been feeding them reptomin pellets. is this ok for them? should i be adding vegies? and ive never fed them in a separate tank, should i start doing this? should i do it in another larger tank, or i have just a smaller plastic carrying case thingy, that someone used to keep them in _________________ "I'm as self-contained as a turtle. the pellets are a good staple diet, you can also feed romaine lettuce (or other types, but NEVER iceburg) guppies add to their diet as well, and it gives them exercise, its also really fun to watch them chase the fish around. separate tub feeding is only recomended to keep wastes down in the actual tank, but you dont absolutely have to do it, whatever is easier for you, essentially. if they are really small, i wouldnt, because their temps can change so fast, but if its bigger, then sure, go for it. a small tub works fine, i just use a margerine container. _________________ I love my turtles! |

yeah ive given them a couple feeder fish before, and for a while they just swam around trying to catch them. it was really funny. they eventually caught them but it took a while. _________________ "I'm as self-contained as a turtle. | I have always fed my RES in their aquarium. I never found it really turn the water bad instantly, but they do leave crumps and what not in the water during their initial bites. the filter cleans up about 40% of it and the water changes are more frequent, but i've always fed them this way. No need to remove them from their home. It's a hassle and not 'comfortable' in my opinion for a turtle. |

| How long did you wait? They will hold out a long time! Wait at least two weeks, they will eat it.I personally feed reptomin to only those under two inches. Then I switch them to mazuri since that has less protien it. I also keep mixed greens in the tanks from the day I get them...even those baby 1 inch neo's can eat greens and will. I wish I could feed out of the tanks but with sooo many it would take forever...ah well more cleaning! LOL |

Krill should be a treat only, once in a while thing. Feed it dark leafy greens, romaine, collard, mustard, red leaf, green leaf. A small amount of fruit, and veggies once a week is fine also. For the pellets feed only what would fit in its head if it were hollow. Under 4 inches once a day, over 4 inches every other to every three days. You can change and give it meats instead of pellets once a week also, baked or boiled chicken, seafood, liver whatever is cooked for dinner...set some aside with no seasoning on it. _________________ 3 sulcata,11 red ears,1 yellow belly,1 melanistic slider,1 map,1 western painted,2 3 toe boxies,1 striped mud,2 japanese pond,2 common musk,1 russian,1 ornate wood,1 FL Cooter,7 annam pond,2 back wood,1 Malayan box,1 Red belly |
