In answer to your questions... I can only speak from observing my turtles.
A. I never knew that my female RES was pregnant. You really can't tell. She just kept trying to climb out of the tank all the time so I assumed that she might need to lay eggs. I filled a kiddie pool with sand & put her in there for a couple of hours a day but she never layed eggs. She finally layed eggs in the water and my other two turtles started to eat the eggs. I tried to save 2 of the eggs but it didn't work out.
B. I believe the turtles become sexually mature at 5 years of age. Not according to shell size.
C. My male turtle always wants to mate with the female and he chases her all around the tank. If she rejects him he tries to bite her. i have had to separate them at times because he once bit her neck and made her bleed. So, as for liking each other all the time??? ... could be problems.
I hope this helps & gives you some more information.
