I have two questions. First of all, I have two turtles, im not sure of their gender. If they are both female, will they still lay eggs? and if they are boy and girl, how to i keep them from breeding?
that is all. please reply _________________ I love my turtles! |

Females over 5 years can and will lay eggs, they need to have a nesting area for them to do so or they can hold the eggs inside and get infected or die if the eggs rot. The eggs will not be fertile unless they have been with a male in the last 4-5 years. Turtle's can hold sperm for that long until the conditions are correct to fertilize them and have babies.
If they are male female the only way to "keep" them from breeding is to seperate them, there really is no other way to stop the males! |
