|
|
I have had my baby turtle for a month now, and he/she doesn't seem to like me. I have made a very nice home for Zippy (my turtle's name), and add fun things all the time. I feed twice a day. But no matter when I come near the tank, Zippy runs away. If I pick him (I have decided he has to be male since he doesn't like me..hee hee) up, to pet and talk to him or even to clean his tank, when I put him back in the water he runs and hides. I'm so sad.
I want my turtle to love me like I love him.
What am I doing wrong or what suggestions can anyone make to help me bond??
Thank you to anyone who can help me! |

| Your turtle may still be getting used to his home. I wouldnt worry to much right now. I have had my turtles for a while now and sometimes they will still run and hide. Guess it depends on their mood. |

| I have two baby red sliders. Sometimes, in the morning when I go to the tank to feed them, they stair at me and swim to the top of the tank for food. Sometimes one of them runs away. I think it is normal! |

Check it's gender; if it's male the way to it's heart is through it's stomach.
I should know - make me a big sandwich and I'm putty in your hands lol _________________

| handle and feed it less for a week or two. then handle and feed it as usual and see if he changes. i did that to my turtles on accident (busy with school) and now they don't run away anymore, they practically crawl into my hand when they're hungry. but only when they're hungry... after they're fed they run away fast as possible... deceiving lil things they be |
