My little guy has taken to staring into the glass and putting his two front legs together and twitching them really fast. He does this every once in awhile, but always near the glass. Does any one have any ideas as to what this may be? thanks!

Haha, okay! I have Motos tank on our dresser [ our bedroom is the only place we have room for it ] and I have a mirror that spans half the length of the dresser, and i notice he likes to stare into the mirror a lot. And sometimes, he does that little dance.. But mostly its wherever he sees the slightest bit of reflection. I wonder if he's lonley. I feel awful because all our other pets have a little pet or friend of their own. I tried to give him a friend.. but he ate it. [ Laughing ] but, I only have a 40g. long tank, and I dont think that'd be big enough for two turts. Specially with the size of my little guy now. Plus, I'd have to travel out of NJ to buy another turt. That's not a huge hassle, but I like to know about the breeding and care of any animal before i buy them.. specially if im introducing them to another animal. I dont want a new addition to cause my little ones to become sick. It would devistate me! I want to get him turtle toys.. but I dont know what exactly a turtle would play with! Moto is my first water turtle. [I had a box turtle when I was younger, but I was like 4.. and mom my did all the work. My brother and I just got to play with it... since we brought it home because it was in the middle of the street and we wouldnt let my mother say no we cant have it. We even had my father begging for us! haha.] Ill do a search for any type of toys a turtle might like to have, but if you have any ideas, feel free to wing them my way.

Im also having a problem with a cloudy tank. I cleaned him last night. Scrubbed it all out, cleaned everything in there, even wiped him down, and i wake up today and te tank is very cloudy. I dont know whats going on with it. Its annoying me!

Do not worry about your turtle being lonely. They like and prefer being alone. I wish I would have known that before I bought my 2nd one. I now have 3 tanks going. 2 male and 1 female. hard work.

Oh!! Great to know. I haven't got the room to have another tank. We've already got two [ a 40g and a 10g] on the last remaining area [ my dresser - so I cant even put my stuff on top of my dresser!! haha it's alll in top drawers ] in our place. Eek to another tank! [ though, moto lives in a little turtle sandbox most of the day in summer ... I made it into a little pool for him. Using the turtle top lid to cover a part of the sandbox for shade, with a floating dock for him to hang out on. He hasnt been able to pull himself out yet, but after readin some of these posts, I think I'll put a little kiddie fence around it so if he does happen to get out, he can't get far. And I'll provide him with a board to get back into the water if he can figure out thats what he needs to use to get back up in there. Laughing ]
