| could u put them wiht an eastern box turtle. i have him in a 12' by 20' dog pen with all the thing he needs and i keep it nice and humid (i drench it down with a hose depending on when it rains but its pretty much never really dry) and i could probably take care of 1 of those red foots they seem really nice with colors and all. thanks for the info on them too. |

| I keep one of my redfoots with a wood turtle. Redfoots do get quite big (18-24 inces and about 40 lbs) although females take 6-8 years to reach full size and males can take more than 10. They aren't a bad beginner tortoise provided you have the space for them. Keep a close look on their eyes though. WHen they're little (under 4 inches) their eyes dry out a lot. I have a baby who gets vitamin A eyedrops a few times a week (my other redfoot needed them growing up too). Cypress mulch is a great substrate. |
