Im soon gonna be getting a 30 gal Breeder tank at the local fish store and im thinking about putting sand into it. at the pet store they sell this stuff "ReptiSand" i think or mabe CalciSand idont remember what it was called but it said that if ingested it will give the reptile calicium and be digested easilly i have a eastern painted turt about 2 1/2 inch. Also will a algea eater and pleco be ok with the sand? _________________ 2.5" Eastern Painted Turtle |

i just talked to some guys up at the pet store and they said that plecos and aglae eaters are fine with sand but the calci-sand would be ok for the turtles but it will float like cuttlebone because its made out of calcium carbonate _________________ 2.5" Eastern Painted Turtle |

| zypu can buy algea eaters, just dont get attached to them. Your babie will eat them. Or stress them to death. |

| unless ur 100% sure ur female is able to drop eggs dont use sand its one big pain in the ass, but if its for breeding then just monitor it a lot and never thought that sand for the land reptiles can be used in water but i wouldnt do it play sand thats filtered is best |
