| I have had my 2 red eared sliders for about 2.5 years. They have always been very friendly and would let me pick them up. For about the past month they have been really aggressive when I feed them (I know I feed them plenty) and they also try to bite when I take them out of their tank. They will even bite the towel as I dry them off. I am busy with school and do not take them out of their tank very often but this hasn't changed over the past month. They never tried to bite before it has only been in the past month. Any ideas why the sudden change in behavior and what I could do to change it? |

Well all turtles are capable of biting. It probably has nothing to do with age.It is probably territorial or behavioral.
My turtle,Tanjobi was like that when I first got him.But I got him as an adult (8 yrs old) and he had been through alot.He was a rescue.Anyway he snapped at everything, including the towel or my sweater...etc.But he has stopped doing that.He no longer snaps when I take him out or anything.
However he could start snapping/biting tommorrow again for all I know.
Just don't put your hands in the front of their faces. _________________ My Babies:
