I've been trying to find some good pics but i can't find much on the net. In this pic there are a group of YBS from the underneath they look quite similar to the cooters but they have yellow bars around the eyes which the cooters dont have. http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/cs-yellowbelly.htm this ones quite good too http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.hiltonpond.org/images/SliderYellowbellyYoung06.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek040422.html&h=368&w=500&sz=42&hl=en&start=3&tbnid=pXLw2O7kI6Ob7M:&tbnh=96&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dyellow%2Bbelly%2Bslider%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DN

the cooters dont have a blotch just stripes http://pick4.pick.uga.edu/mp/20q?act=x_ant&path=Vertebrata/Reptilia/Testudines/Emydidae/Pseudemys/peninsularis&name=Pseudemys+peninsularis&xml=Turtles&authority=(Carr,+1938)&common_name=Peninsula+cooter#Image,%20eNature.com

Cooters are great they're the friendliest turtles i've come across but they can get huge! If I had the space I'd have more of them! Very Happy

i could care less how big they get now.this mean i woudl get softshell turtle(that when i become a advance breeder)or an cooter.i would put them in a pond when they get bigger.

I suppose in California you have that option, unfortunately over here ponds often freeze over in the winter! Sad
