Hey there people. I'm rubbish at these introductionary posts so I'll try keep it short and sweet. My name's Ash and I reciently aquired two baby turtles for my 21st birthday. I suppose my friends decided now that I'm offically and adult I was due some responcibility lol
Anyways, if your curious they're both Eastern Softshells named Freud and Funnybones - mainly because of the patterns on their stomachs. Frued has some weird inkblot and enjoys staring at people almost as if it's analysing you. And Funnybones got his name as there seems to be a weird skull pattern on his underside and it looks an awful lot like an old cartoon with the same name that was aired over here in the UK.
I've got them in a beginners tank as I'm new to this and would really appreciate the help the forum and the website is offering. Kinda had a crisis today when Frued was refusing to eat. But after scanning through the site I soon put my figner on what could have been up. I reciently asked a friend of mine to look after my two turtles as I was going to be out of town for a few days. I come back to find my friend had been poking my turtles, shaking the tank to 'immitate waves' and was caught over feeding them. Basically, he's been stressing the poor little guys out. No wonder they actually seemed quite upbeat when I came back
He's eating now thankfully - I have to admit I was actually very worried
Should be getting a webcam sometime soon so I could show you lot how painfully cute these guys are. Looking forward to future posts!
By the way, these little turtle animations are awesome \m/

I must have missed this post, it's been awhile since I've had the time to sit down and read thru them. Welcome to the board!! I think I've replied already to one or two of your other posts, but thought I'd extend a welcome anyway!
LOL! Your friends decided it was time for you to have some responsibility, ay?! That's too funny!! (BTW, I love the name Ash!! Seriously, it just sounds handsome!!) Looking forward to your pics! _________________ shade & sweetwater! |

Tell me about it ¬_¬
On my birthday they actually blindfolded me and lead me to where the tank was, knelt me down and took the blinfold off. I saw one of the turtles and I was over the moon - then I saw the other one and almost had a panic attack.
Later I got hopelessly drunk, hugged the tank they we're in and started murmmering to them. Never really had my own pet before, just family pets _________________

Apparently there's video >_< *shudders*
I also ended up hugging the toilet, but that was after drinking quite a few Turbo Shandies.
Turbo Shandy:
Take one pint of larger and drink half in one go. Top up with an alchopop of your choice and drop in a shot of vodka. Drink. Spend rest of night falling over and giggling hysterically. _________________
