The bottom pic is Blue at 3 months old and 76 pounds. The top pic is almost full grown. He is quite a beast.

This is my mom\'s dog. He weighs over 200 pounds. His chest measures 44 inches and he is about 6 feet long.

He is a Neopolitan Mastiff. I don\'t remember Fang in Harry Potter. Was Fang tan with black around the face?

Yeah they are cool. But they are a lot of work and very expensive. Blue cost $2700.00 and the vet bills are tremendous. He eats 20 pounds of dog food, three pounds of ground meat and 3 chickens a week! And that doesn\'t include all the other treats that he gets regularly. And they toys, oh my. He greets you at the door with a chair cushion in his mouth. He has four of them. He likes to give presents. What I always wanted, an old, slobbery, stinky chair cushion.

And, uh, why do they have this beast? (that is what my mom said when she read what you wrote, lol Smile

) That sounds expensive! How does your mom manage it? But then, we have five dogs and so many other pets (see signature below) and they eat a lot of food. Two of them are Rotties, one is a Chow/Corgi mix, and the the other two are toy puppies (ones a mix and the other is a pure blood toy rat terrier). Star (rat terrier) is SO anoying! She potties on everything! I can\'t wait untill Heather gets her potty trained. Smile

Well, put it this way. The original owner didn\'t like him much and my mom fell in love with him as soon as she laid eyes on him. So she took him in.

I said that he cost $2700.00. That is what the original owner paid. My mom stepped in when he was three months old and the owner didn\'t want him anymore.

Your mom is very lucky to be able to keep, take care of and and experience such a dog. I had a French Bourdoex Mastiff and he was awesome. Poor thing didn't even know how to run when I got him. Took him a couple weeks to realize he was a dog and that he could run and play. Mastiffs are really the gentle giants of the dog world. Once he figured out that he could play and run and be a dog he was wonderful. I give your mom alot of credit for taking on such a big responsibility. And I am sure she reaps the rewards of having such a dog on a daily basis.
