For our turtle to play with or keep him busy.I have read several post were some of you speak of adding play things for them and I have nothing but rocks and water in my tank Confused He is almost the size of two half dollars if that.Right now he is in a 10 gallon but this week I will be switching him to a 20 long.Is he board? Do they need things to keep them busy? Thanks in advance for your help!!!!

Some things to add:
Plants, fake or real
Cuttlebone pieces to chew on
Bubble to play in (with your filter or an air pump)

Get a bigger tank than 20g if you can.

adding to fishandcandy's:

figurines that decorate the tank and keep the turtle busy (turtles like to move things around).

i have rubber duckies and a floating boat for mine. they like sailing every now and then Smile

throw in a ping pong ball and see how they go crazy for it

Thanks for the tips. I have rubber turtles instead of rubber ducks.......lol
Could I put one of these in the tank? I worry about Dude taking a piece off of it Surprised

The only reason for the 20 right now is that I am upgrading my tropical fish tank to a 30 and was going to move Dude to the 20 since I would have the 20 sitting around and once the 20 gets to small we will then by a 55 for him.The 10 he is in now is great for him cause he is still very small and switching him to the 20 would give him ample room for right now.I do understand though that he will need a much bigger tank once he gets bigger but for now it will work Wink

ok if it's already there then there's no harm in upgrading even if a small difference Smile rubber turtles will do especially that he's alone. he'll get the chance to meet some siblings Wink
