try living foods and strawberries. btw, it's a wild turtle so is there anything wrong with it? i suggest u put it back cz wild turtles aren't good pets + would u like being trapped after living freely? i know it's not easy to give it up but think about the turtle Smile

you do not know what you are saying i have over 40 saved turtles some hit by cars some almost dead on the side of the road many have been released back to the wild i will not release this turtle until it is eating and is heathy enough to survive in the wild putting a land turtle in an unkown outdoor habitat can be deadly to the poor turtle i was hoping someone may have had this problem with other turtles before i bring it to the vet i was hoping this site would have some knoledgeable people not smartasses how would you like being put out in the wild when you are sick and need some help

ok PLEASE don't take this the wrong way but... Garrett you didn't say that it was sick and not healthy enough to survive in the wild. All you had said was that you couldn't get it to eat. And I'm guessing you live in a city where you can't put it outside safely without it being runover?

Also, I'm sure dixieee didn't know that you were in such high-standings with turtle rescue. I've never even seen 40 turtles, nevermind 40 sick turtles that wouldn't survive on their own so good job Laughing

40 turtles is a lot to rescue, how'd you do it? Were they all land turtles? My friend found one once and I fed it hamburger at first but I didn't know that was bad for it [first day I had it and first turtle I had at all] so then I went out and got some greens for it to munch on. Then a week later it disappeared! I don't know what ever happened to it Sad

Are there any other signs of illness?

Maybe you should just take it to the vet before another fight breaks out Laughing And for the turtles own safety...

After two weeks it seems like it should have been eatting already?

Sorry, I don't know much about box turtles as I have a RES.

thanks for your relpy. 40 turtle saved in about two years many ,most have been released back .i live in houston we have alot of rain that fills the ditches with fast moving water. moving turtle very fast the water then disapears just as fast as it came. leaving many turtles, they then start to searh for new homes crossing very busy roads on very hot cement when i get them many have broken shells eye problems and most of all covered with leaches at my home i have cement ponds and let them eat good for awhile and then set them free. some people dont ask questions and make coments to insult you ,i am not a child well maybe at heart and the computer is new to me so typing is not my best quailty still learning the keyboard I am trying to put pic tures up i hpoe it will be soon.the box turle was moved to an outdoor pen seems more active and i noticed it lerf a dump in its water bowl
