Hi!
I'm new to this forum and am very impressed by all the info I've seen so far.
So here's my real test.
Answer the question no one else has been able to answer.
What kind of turtle do my wife and I have?
It's roughly 11 years old---maybe more.
She's been chewed on by a dog in the past (dog is since gone) so please try to ignore the marks on the front and rear of her shell.
GREAT turtle. Any help identifying will be appreciated!
Incidentally....
I'm cluesless to posting images here so if the Img post below doesn't work---please go to the URL listed inside it. Also, if it doesn't work and someone feels like explaining to me what the heck I did wrong...that'd be appreciated too! Thanks!

Your turt has a very mischevious smile! I'm not real good at identifying different species, but there's lots of ppl on the forum that are.... I'm sure one of them will see your post soon & help you out! _________________ shade & sweetwater! |

you should be able to see the pics if you go to the website where they're posted:

I wouldn't think it is a mud turtle as it's shell is fairly flat. At first glance I thought it might be a Blandings but I am not so sure about that either. What ever it is, it sure is a real cutie. _________________

In case anyone was curious...I got a reply from one of the 10 or so people/places I posted the question of what type of turtle myrtle is...
She's a Yellow Asian Pond Turtle.
Found a site all about them and she's identical!
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and comments! |
