Yes it is all over the news about it here. But I actually have a good story that happened on myspace. I found my long lost brother on myspace. Razz

I also have my profile set on private, which means no one ohter than the people I know have access to my info and stuff.

I know about myspace,yes.But to think it is only myspace that is evil,thats crazy.ANYWHERE on the net you could be a victim,even here in the forums.There are weirdos anywhere,not only myspace.Also to say only men prey on people,is kind of sexist...women are just as evil sometimes.

My point is,you cannot feel safe anywhere on the web.

I can agree with that. I worked with a guy who statred surfing what was on my computer. he only did that to prove why I needed a very good firewall.

Point taken. Not very often do you here of woman stalkers or abusers but they are out there. here in Florida I think there were 10 female teachers(over the last year and a half) who lost their jobs and face time for sleeping with the students.

anyways, i was typing that yesterday but my pc went off and lost it. so here it is:

it's not just myspace that could be a threat to u. i'm still undergoing a problem cz of the no security, no privacy thing. imagine how sick-mided some people could get..i graduated from uni in Jan 2006 and was looking for a job. got online and posted my cv on some recruitment websites, sent others by email from classifieds,...anyways, a couple of weeks ago i started getting weird phone calls and people were telling me that someone i know referred me to them cz i need help with some guy-related problems. i thought it was a sick joke at first but things grew to be that they're calling and telling me stuff about my personal life. why on earth would they be telling me so?! don't i know enough about myself??? so i got to google and searched for my email address. that's what i found: in one of the adult msg boards (which i have never heard of b4), someone posted that i need help with guy-related stuff and posted my cell # for ppl to call me and there was a note at the end saying if anyone other than me answers, say that u wanted to employ me as an excuse not to get in trouble. till now, i'm still getting sick phone calls @ 4 am in the morning!

sorry for making it that long but in conclusion, NEVER post any personal info about u, ur family, friends, and anyone u know anywhere. not even in ur email's profile

Why sue myspace because you decided to put your personal info on a public forum? Parents need to take responsibility for their children and what their children are doing on the net. Problem solved! Razz

oh and one other thing.................where were all these teachers when I was in school?? Embarassed

When the information highway started I didnt pay any attention to it.

Later (about 2 years later) I met a guy in an aol chatroom. I left my life and moved in with him. I proceeded to go down a VERY bad road of drugs, and it took me to the streets in the end. But I quit(11 months drug free now!) left the creep, and now have a job and I am struggling but making it. My son who is 17 goes on myspace and I am not happy about some of the people he talks to but since he lives with my ex. It is hard to control it. My daughter met some on on the net 6 years ago, and it was a disaster. Thankfully all she did was learn a valuable lesson. Nothing bad happened, but the person was not who he said he would be. I do not use the internet much anymore, there are ALL kinds of sick people out there, and idenity theft is rampant. Please be safe. Know who your kids are talking too, easy to say I know, but if you suspect something TAKE ACTION. You only get one chance. I do not live in the past, but I have learned a lesson from it.

I had a very similar issue with a guy I met on a dating site. It was very bad he almost killed me, the one time in our fighting that it became violent. (He pulled a gun) Anyway, congrats on being drug free, me its been a year now without the street drugs. The only drugs I do now are prescribed by the doctors.
You do have to be very very careful of any info you put on the internet, let alone your computer because there are those hackers out there. I learned that lesson from someone I worked with a few years ago.

i doubt that it happens anywhere other than in this area cz ppl are bigger than that but well, just a caution..

i have myspace but i dont go on...NEVER since it give out information about us and what i do just lie about my age in chat rooms and whreer i live and my hight since i dont trust any of my friend in the chat room in www.sailormoon.com any way last year my histroy teacher was talking about myspace and told us dont give no one about your information of you since she cares about us so much.and i DONT give out pic of me i just gibe out pic of my favorite shows and books and others and im also 13.

it ok.in got bifnew about my turtles!one of them reach 2 inches!now i need to get him a new home i bet he/she woudl love a new home plus a bigger space!yet then i have no room...my room is all full!my room is very small but i like my old room dedign better i had two wardrob and one huge tv stand and my bed used be where the desk is now.i had lot of room now no more.but i got room in the parent room but i dont know it going to be ok though...
