yes...my RES finally is eating the pellets. And it seems to like the pellets a lot. for the past 3 days i have been feeding it about twenty pellets a day. Is it too much? it's about 6 - 7 inch in shell length (not including head). it's about 4yrs old. And it jus recovered from its swollen eye illness (due to vitamin a deficiency) it had not eaten for 2 weeks before i fed it a bit of fish and now pellets. the reason i am feedin it twenty plus pellets is dat because it did not eat for 2 weeks. so i jus wanna help it to gain nutrients. moreover the vet diagnosed it as not having enough vitamins. So am i feedin it too much? twenty pellets a day . i plan to start feedin it veggie next week plus maybe ten pellets a day. is it ok? by the way i feed it mazuri fresh water turtle diet.

i think that's good for a turtle that size Smile u can keep checking by looking at the bottom shell. if u see flesh coming out of the feet holes then it's getting over-weight and should be put on a diet. btw, glad ur turtle is ok now Very Happy

Thanks a lot. It's back to her normal (greedy) self. It keeps beggin for food. I feel bad not to give her more pellets when she stretches out her neck to look at me. It's very cute. (I will feel...awww...so poor thing and end up giving her more pellets)i tried putting shreds of carrot into the tank today but it was not interested even though it was foraging for food. (it ate at least thirty or forty pellets today....and she's still foragin for food....-.-) but i am glad that she has recovered. Anyway thanks for your advice.

oh well 10-15 is ok, 40 is too much for any size. keep trying with the carrots, she'll eat them when she's hungry and there are no pellets Smile

they should get vitamins they need from the UV rays and diet. feed them carrots, very healthy for turtles. u can also get cuttlebone (from the birds' section at a petshop) and remove the outer layer then cut it into small pieces (like pellet size) and give it to them.
