a film on top of the water has kept coming back after i do water changes and it will go away when i emty out some water but then when i fill back up its back Mad

is this normal? Question

do i need to get a skimer of somesort if so whould this 1 work: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=14676&N=2004+113771

or do i just need to do a good cleaning?

Skimmeres are ok but the film is more than likely from your turtles diet. The oils will float on the surface. You can try feeding in a seperate container and only put your floating veggies in the main tank.

well he/she wont eat any vegys yet (ive tried a lot) on account he is just a baby he/she will mainy only eat a shrimp but his fav is feeder fish and freeze dried bloodworms ive also tried turtle pelets broken up but he eats em but them vomits them back up Twisted Evil

ive tried feeding him in another contaner with water but i think he is 2 scared

What kind of filter do you have? Does it agitate the surface of the water?
My tank has that same sort of film on it right now (my filter burned out) and I've noticed it before when the filter has been off. I call it "turtle oil".

i used to have the rio 180 filter but that sucked b/c all the larger waste would just roll offf when i tried to clean it, i just got a new filter today the fluval 104 canister and the custom flow kit. 1 word WOW Surprised

the water is crystal clear Smile

oh and btw all the customflow is, is a pipe with holes in to that i have running allong the back side of the tank to put a current over the river stones so i can see the poop
