My turtle swims in the tub too, also roams the house since her basking ramp lets her in and out of the tank at her leisure. we go in the back yard for long walks every week too.
My question is how much roaming is enough?
She comes out 10 times a day, her tank is a 20 gal long and she is too big for it, but I need to close the door to her room and feel bad doing it. _________________ Coors |

You can use a rubbermaid tub for a larger enclosure indoors or a kiddie pool outside. These are both inexpensive and can be replaced easily. In another post you said your turtle is 5 years old. A 20 is way to small for an adult female. Females should have at min 75 gal but preferably a 100 gal.
Personally I do not recommend letting turtles roam in the house and I hate the time it takes to clean and disinfect the bathroom after they are in there. Turtles can and do carry salmonella and I won't risk my families health. _________________
