heya, im just saying hi to everyone. In 5 days i will be getting my 2 turtles. They're both Alligator snapping turtles, 2" Shell L. The Female is a Leucistic A.S. The male is a Regular A.S. I have all ways wanted a A.S. Yes, I know they can get 150+ pounds. The A.S turtle grow only about 1-2" a year. By the time they're big like that I will have a nice big place for them to live.
I know that snapping turtles are not good for Beginners. I have exp with turtles I have taken care of a lot of Turtles in my life. I use to rescued Stink pot , Eastern painter, and Common snapping. Stopped because i moved from the pond i rescued them from. The turtles would fall off a water fall. Some in which would be missing Legs but would swim fine.

i picked them up at the air port on saturday. I had to talk to 7 different ppl at ups about what happen to the turtles After I talk to a nice lady named Rosa, she found the package. She asked me on the phone if you could open the box to see if they were ok, i said"yes you can but watch your fingers they're Snapping turtles". When she opened the box they were fine. Next i raced to the air port to pick them up. When i received the box i ran water over them, they had spent 5 days with just a moist paper towel. I was afraid because the male wasn't moving much, so I came home and put them in the tank. Twenty minutes later theyy were eating fish and swimming around.
Now the female just sits in the weeds all day and the male is actively swimming around the tank trying to catch fish. When I take them out of the tank the female moves around alot and is curious to see what's going on. The male is still shy, he just hides in his shell when you hold him.
The Leucistic A.S. is female(lighter skinned) The Regulur A.S is Male. for some reason in the pictures the 2 of them swtiched places for a day...

What beautiful little babies!! I love their set-up too. Lots of room for them to swim around it. Looks like you are doing a great job. I am also happy to hear they are doing good after 5 days in a box. _________________ -= Shannon =- |
