Ok heres a way to get to know some of the other turtles here... Smile

What pets do you have..? No1 has the same pet,same name,etc. Tell us about your pets. What are their names..?how old are they? where'd you get them? What are they like? etc. I just thought it'd be a fun idea. Smile

Well here goes mine..lol. I have three dogs. Two WHITE labs. both two years old. rebel and dixie. Brother and sister. Rebel I got for my 12th birthday present and he was the best present a kid could have! I couldnt get him till valentines day yet when he was 5 weeks old. When I went to get him of course I couldnt get just one..! lol. So we got his sister Dixie for my dad as a valentines day present. but their both MY dogs. and my two best friends. Then theres Red.. old red... lol. Red is a lab/golden retriever* mix. We've had him since I was one!!! and Im now 14! so ya in dog years he's up there. Idk how to say it but he's my best friend. NO ONE can replace him! Smile

Then I have my four cats,calico,patches,dusty,and evil hello kitty. lol lets put it this way Kittys name stands for it all Wink

lol. oh and I have ONE fish. French fry..dont ask my friend named it. lol. and this weekend I'll have marilyn and manson! my RES! Very Happy

SO EXCITED! lol. ok well thats all about my pets..lets hear about yours...

I have my 2 RES= Chunkey and Squirt. I have my cat Pika. I have had him for 6 years and does not like my dog coming in and taking over. But he has adjusted. I have my dog,Missy. She is a boxer mix, 9 mths old and a very loving dog, great disposition! Then there is my bro's dog. Her name is Cocoa. She will be 14 this year and very cranky! Razz

Still a sweetie! Then there is the roommates dog. Dont know a whole lot about her. Neither does he. He adopted her from some one. All I know is between my dog and her I get no sleep. They steal my bed. Laughing

Then of course I have my "skin" kids my oldest will be 10 at the end of this month and of course my 5 year old Rolling Eyes

Oh cant forget my bros saltwater tank. He just bought like 50 snails for it Rolling Eyes

I hope Im not forgetting much except what all is in the tank. Razz

I only have a few pets...
One RES named Petri. He's about 2.5 inches long. I got him in December from a friend. He's between 2 and 3 years old.
Two cats. Gepetto is a little over 3 years old. She is a big gray striped cat, she weighs around 16 lbs. My fiance found her at his work when she was just a little baby. Keoki is almost a year old. We adopted her from the animal shelter last fall. She's a little tortie kitten and she drools like crazy.
In the next couple months I want to get a crab. Either a hermit crab or a regular one. Maybe some fish.
I want a puppy, too, but not for a few years.
And I want a box turtle.
Then, maybe, I'll have enough pets.

I have my 2 baby turtles (spoy & speedy), a cockitiel who sings the andy griffith theme song (tweety), a goldfish, and then back on the farm dad is keeping my 2 horses and yellow lab until i get my own house.

Oh God, I have so many animals... here goes. I hope I don't leave anyone out, LOL.

First there is my baby painted turtle, Edward. He came from the wild. Next weekend I am taking him to a rehabilitator so he can be rehabilitated and reset back into the wild legally. I will miss him, but he was wild to begin with and deserves to live free that way.

I also have a baby Blizzard gecko named Oscar. He is a grouchy little thing.

Then there is Morris, my long haired Golden hamster. He's such a wonderful pet, he has never bitten, which is a rare trait in pet store hamsters.

I also own 4 mice. 3 are females named Dorothy, Blanche, and Rose, named after the Golden Girls t.v. show. Then there is their brother, Buster. I raised them since birth, so they have been handled even since they were eating on their own and have never bitten.

Then there is my pride and joy, Rusty, my beautiful Mini Rex bunny. She is such a sweet girl. She shares a huge bunny cage with VanGogh, my female Dutch bunny. I use to work at a pet store when this man brought in a little of baby Dutches that he needed to get rid of. I noticed that one of them only had one ear. He said that unfortunately a cat swiped it off when she was born. Because of stupid store policies, we were not allowed to sell a one-eared bunny, so I took her home.

I own a ferret as well named Monti. He is a handful! I highly suggest only purchasing a ferret if you have hours to devote to playing with them. He is extremely social and love to come out and nip at your toes! He has such personality and all the hassel of raising a new born puppy!!

I also own 3 Fire-Bellied Toads. Two are males named Michigan and Spot, and the other is a female named Speckles. Speckles is a Russian toad, so she is brown in color with a vibrant red and black belly. Both Spotty and Mich are Oriental. They are green with red and black bellies. They are such wonderful pets. They sing a lot too, which is nice to listen too.

Then there are my 3 fish. 2 are Bubble-Eye Goldfish named Wiggles and Igor, and the last one is a Pleco named Swiffer. People say fish are stupid, but I swear these guys are so smart! They love to be talked to and greeted.

I also have two cats, one named Taz and the other named Cleo. I adopted Cleo from a rescue organization. She has a few health problems that can be quite a handful, but she is such a happy girl. She is constantly purring.

Then there is my Shih Tzu, Cera. We got her from the shelter. She was badly abused from her previous owner and was scared to death of people. She is much happier now, but still has her skittesh tendicies. She is also a total mess. She has numerous health issues and use to go to the vet constantly. However, unfortunately her condition is untreatable. So we must try to keep her as comfortable as possible so she will at least stay happy.

With all my animals, my 3 Hermit Crabs were not getting the attention they deserved, so my sister took them in. I still visit my little guys when I can. My favorite boy, Moe is so social! He comes right out of his shell and wanders all around. He has also never pinched me... I have been pinched by other Hermies I owned before, and let me tell you, it HURTS, LOL.

My best friend also houses my rat, Venus. She owns her sister, and we decided it was best not to separate them, so I let Venus stay there with her. She's such a cutie. If she is on your shoulder, she is the happiest rat around!

That about covers it. I really hope I didn't leave anyone out... LOL. In a week I am getting a Russian Tortoise. I am excited and can't wait to meet the little guy!

wow has it been a while! how is everyone?! good I hope.. well the turtles thing didnt work out.. but last week I got a baby iguana! his name is skittles and is the cutest thing can be. I'd like to have gotten a turtle but my mom was to worried about the diseases* and all they carry and I kind of thought it over and wanted something I can handle alot. ok well hey..HAPPY EASTER! lol..just thought I'd leave an update and hope everyone is doing well.. oh and heres a pic of skittles! may be a little big sorry. just some pics I took of him on his first easter! lol.

He is so adorable! So bright and cute!

Iguanas get HUGE!! Keep handling him at much as possible, because they have been known to be quite aggresive. The more you handle him, the tamer he will become, and when he is full grown, you won't have to worry about a 72 inch 20 pound lizard biting or whipping ya! LOL.

I cant wait till Skittles gets bigger! Ok I've been wondering..Right now Skittles is about a foot in length,and very fast when he gets older doesnt he get slower Im thinking..? lil unsure about that.

Hmmm... I am not very experienced with Iguanas, but I imagine he will slow down a bit, especially as he gets bulkier. But because you handle him so much, I'm sure that by the time he is full grown he will be very tame and won't even feel the need to run. Smile

Check out Anapsid for some great info on your Iggy. You can click the link in my siggy to get in and just navigate from there.

I have to second the Ferret info. They take lots of time but they return all the love you give them. We loved all of ours, they are the kitten that never grows up to be a cat. I am not a cat person. They kill to many of my critters around here, so I really don't like them.

We have many rescues and of course most change out as I find homes for some. Some just stay with us.

Right now we don't have to many critters:

6 turtles
2 Black masked love birds
3 Buff Orpington Chickens
1 Americana or Easter egger chicken
4 White Leghorn chicks
1 BronzeBreasted Turkey big baby
Husky/Samoyed cross baby
2 Pommy babies
1 Shih Tzu Rolling Eyes

He needs a new home soon. Rehab is about done.
