I have seen nice tank with river rocks. I need to order online. I couldn't find any where I live. I need help with this....What is enough a reasonable amount for my tank. I am in a tight budget right and I just do not want to order too much just the right amount. They sell in 5Ibs and 25Ib. Any idea?

I only put about 5 lbs of small river rocks in my tank. you dont want to put to many in there as it makes it harder to clean. This should be plenty(5lbs) for a 20gal long

Won't ordering online be expensive? It seems like the shipping on rocks would be a lot. There isn't a Home Depot or hardware/lawncare store near you?

The Home depot nearby me doesn’t have the lot of landscaping materials. They just have the white gravel like the same one I just removal from my tank. I was searching on line and found Lowes carries different variety of pebbles. Thanks so much for your help.

do you have a Walmart near you? I saw some nice rocks at Walmart the other day that I was eyeing up (unfortionately, I too am on a short budget being a student with no job and my mom said "no" lol.) They had them in pretty small bags so you could probably buy a couple of them to fill a 20 gallon tank. I'm not sure how many you would need. They also seemed pretty cheap.
I found these rocks in the arts & crafts section at my walmart. I'm not sure if they are what you would need or not, but they seemed like they would work really well for a tank. They were only $1-2 a bag full, so that seemed pretty cheap to me. I think there was probably 150 rocks in a bag, give or take a couple, but I'm not sure.
Good luck!

A river...well.... may be Hudson river...Smile ...I live 15 minutes from down town Manhattan...These are my first turtles, hopefully I will be looking for the rocks whenever I go to the rivers, lakes, parks and ocean more nowadays. I know for sure I could do that and found nice big rocks but because I need them.... now.... You know what I mean.

And yes we have a Wal-Mart around ...I didn't know they have that...I will go and check that too...Thanks so much

You could get pictures of rocks and tape them to the bottom of your tank and then get just a few rocks for your turtle to play with. That'll be easier to clean, too.
