| Great site! I`ve had squrtle now for 5 or so yrs. and have not ever feed him any veggies. Dose it matter? He seems very happy. I feed him pellets, fresh ocean perch, and he has fish to chass and eat. He is in a 125 gal. |

Welcome to the board, turtle1! Is squrtle a RES? It's hard to say, as long as he's getting all the nutrients he needs. The pellets that you feed him, are they vitamin enriched? Or do you spray them with vitamins? I would try to feed him some veggies just to see if he's going to like it. I believe I read somewhere that turts are more carniverous when they're younger and become more herbivore as they grow older. Hope this helps! _________________ shade & sweetwater! |

welcome to the board
yes they do need veggies and in fact, ur turtle is a juvie now and half of his diet should depend on green stuff. he might give u a hard time but u could start with carrots, lots of vit A and they like it (between the other veggies ). u can also try cutting down his food and keeping floating leaves or lettuce in his tank so he eats it if he feels hungry. keep in mind, NO spinach, NO iceburg lettuce, and NO broccoli _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

attaching pix is easy and needs no pc guru:)
1- upload the pix to an online album like www.photobucket.com
2- after the pix are there, u'll see their thumbnails. click on one of them and u'll see the actual size of the pic
3- right click on it and go to properties..
4- copy the whole URL address as it is
5- come back here and paste it here like this:
[ i m g ] the copied URL goes here [ / i m g ]
but WITHOUT spaces, i have to do it that way so it shows.
6- submit and the pic is up there
there are other ways if u find this one difficult but it's not and i use it good luck with ur little guy _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo
